Little Funhouse

Our infants and toddlers house

Space and time to explore, learn and grow

Little Funhouse is our dedicated infants and toddlers house. We welcome up to 20 infants and toddlers each day at a ratio of 1:4 to ensure responsive, nurturing care.

Our youngest pepe enjoy a calm and safe baby room where they can play, explore and develop skills at thier own pace while having their individual needs supported. We also have a mobile infants and toddlers lounge which flows out onto a deck and our outdoor learning environment providing opportunity for free movement between learning spaces and open exploration.

Our onsite cook prepares fresh and nutritious meals daily; We cater for all stages of development- from pureed vegetables for our youngest pepe beginning solids through to full meals for our toddlers. We are also able to support children with specific dietry requirements and food allergies.

While your pepe are starting out we request that parents please provide a bottle and your choice of formula or breast milk for your child – these will be labelled and stored at Funhouse and used for your child only. Your teaching team will communicate when formula or breastmilk will need replenishing. Funhouse will provide cows’ milk once your child reaches this stage, however if you child requires specialty milk we ask that parents please provide this and it will be clearly labeled for your child only.

Funhouse provides wipes, powder, and nappy cream but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer a certain brand- these will be stored in your child's personal nappy cubby. We offer the option for funhouse nappies at an extra cost per day, if you prefer to provide your own choice of nappies these will be kept in thier named cubby and used on your child only. Your child will also have their own bag hook where their belongings, spare sets of clothes, and special personal items are kept together.

Responsive to the rhythms of our children

At Little Funhouse we understand that each child has thier own unique rhythm. Depending on their age and stage of development he/she will have different needs for sleep, play, and care. Our daily routine is flexible and responsive, allowing us to follow the individual rhythms of each child while also working closely with the routines established by you, their whanau.

Between meeting each child’s individual care needs, we provide a free play, child-led curriculum. We offer a wide range of resources, equipment and experiences that support and stimulate our tamariki in all the different areas of their development.
